Personal Interests
Dr. Harrison enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the Houston Heights local parks and eateries. She and her family love to explore by bicycle along the Houston Hike and Bike trail. She is an active member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in the Heights and serves on the school board for St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. Volunteer service and involvement in the community is a strong part of her identity and she donates her time and efforts to serve her community through the Junior League of Houston.
Biography
Dr. Jaclyn Harrison cares for patients with a combination of exceptional clinical expertise and a compassionate personal touch. As a board-certified internal medicine physician and former associate professor and hospital education chief, she is uniquely qualified to approach primary care from a preventive and educational perspective, blended with her extensive experience in diagnosis, treatment and management of a wide variety of medical conditions.
After growing up in the Houston area, Dr. Harrison attended the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, and completed her internal medicine residency training at Georgetown University Hospital. She returned to her Texas roots and settled in Houston to focus on clinical patient care, treating acutely ill patients at Memorial Herman Hospital – Texas Medical Center. Before joining White Oak Medical Associates, Dr. Harrison also provided clinical care and managed patient flow as associate medical director for the hospital-based physicians at Memorial Hermann Hospital – Greater Heights.
Dr. Harrison has shared her passion for evidence-based medicine as an associate professor of internal medicine for the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, teaching future doctors the practice of internal medicine in the clinical setting, and by serving as education chief for physicians at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
A resident of the Houston Heights, Dr. Harrison lives with her husband and two children, and is fully engaged in the community. She is an active member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and serves on the board for St. Andrew’s Episcopal School. In her free time, you can find Dr. Harrison spending time with her family and exploring the Houston Heights local parks and eateries, and biking along the Houston Hike and Bike trail.
